Very cute story, and considering we almost named our son Enzo, this is kind of a running joke in our family.

THe book is well made, lots of pages, pictures and words. It's a bit much for my 2 year old, but would be awesome for a year old, I'm sure.5/5(2). To his legion of admirers, Italian auto titan Enzo Ferrari () was a genius who personally created marvelous cars of advanced design.

But as Car and Driver columnist Yates points out in this captivating, demythologizing biography, none of Ferrari's racing cars "was a glittering example of daring technology," and he had almost no hand in /5(12).

- Enzo is a very aware and intuitive pup in this novel, definitely deserving of becoming a human in his next life. Also, he was pretty funny and sought revenge in the best of ways.

Dislikes: At certain times throughout the book I would get tired of the race car analogies that Enzo used. - "The Evil Twins" aka Denny's in-laws/5. Summary. The novel follows the story of Denny Swift, a race car driver and customer representative in a Seattle BMW dealership, and his dog, Enzo, who believes in the legend that a dog "who is prepared" will be reincarnated in his next life as a human.

Enzo sets out to prepare, with The Seattle Times calling his journey "a struggle to hone his humanness, to make sense Publisher: HarperCollins.

Enzo learns from Denny not only the art of racing a car but also the art of living. And as it turns out, the skills required for both are pretty interchangeable. A driver, like a human, has to be selfless, has to predict the road ahead and plan ahead for the best. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: most dogs love to chase cars, but Enzo longs to race them.

He learns about racing and the world around him by watching TV and by listening to the words of his best friend, Denny, an up-and-coming race car driver, and his daughter, Zoë, his constant s: K. Enzo Anselmo Giuseppe Maria Ferrari, Cavaliere di Gran Croce OMRI (Italian: [ˈɛntso anˈsɛlmo ferˈraːri]; 20 February – 14 August ) was an Italian motor racing driver and entrepreneur, the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team, and subsequently of the Ferrari automobile marque.

He was widely known as "il Commendatore". Instead, “Art of Racing” follows one dog, golden retriever Enzo, with Kevin Costner as our sage furry narrator, the all-knowing best friend of race-car. Directed by Simon Curtis.

With Kevin Costner, Milo Ventimiglia, Jackie Minns, Marcus Hondro. Through his bond with his owner, aspiring Formula One race car driver Denny, golden retriever Enzo learns that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to successfully navigate the journey of life.

Baby boomers were taking to the road in droves, looking for speed not safety, style not comfort. Meanwhile, Enzo Ferrari, whose cars epitomized style, lorded it over the European racing scene. He crafted beautiful sports cars, "science fiction on wheels," but was also called "the Assassin" because so many drivers perished while racing s:   The Art of Racing in the Rain, the story of DE instructor and aspiring race car driver Denny Swift as told by his dog, Enzo, is an enjoyable read full of driving, racing and life book’s title first caught my attention last Summer, soon after I survived a rain-soaked driver’s education (DE) weekend at Grattan Raceway.

Enzo sometimes gets to accompany Denny to the racetrack, which he loves, and while they're at home, the two spend a lot of time watching old race videos of Denny as well as of past racing greats. This immersion in the world of racing leads Enzo to develop a life philosophy based around racing, which he shares with the reader throughout the novel.

The Art of Racing in the Rain Summary. This book begins at the ending: specifically, the end of Enzo's life. At this point in the story, Enzo is an old dog, tired and ready to move on to what comes next. He's preparing himself and his master Denny for their ultimate goodbye.

Yes, we are already crying at this point, too. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively, and by listening very closely to the words of his master, Denny Swift, an up-and-coming race car /5(K).

The Art of Racing in the Rain follows Enzo's life with Denny, a race car driver who falls in love with a woman named Eve (played by Amanda Seyfried). When tragedy befalls Denny, Enzo is unwavering in his loyalty and support.

By Carroll Smith This book is the sequel to Carroll Smith's Prepare To Win, published inone of the first books to tackle racing car design. Smith was a race car engineer and worked with. Having loved racing his entire life, the ending alludes to the idea that he was, in fact, reincarnated, as a young boy whose name is Enzo approaches Danny and wishes to be a race car.
